Shawna Rae's Treats & Eats

Here’s my problem. I live in Minnesota. My in-laws live in Indiana. They send pictures of all the places they love to go. We’ve been seeing Shawna Rae’s for a bit and finally made it. Absolutely did not disappoint, other than only open a few days. Between all of us we picked out 6 cheesecakes and a dozen cupcakes. What a difficult decision! They were SO good. I had the lemon cupcake. I LOVE lemon heads and this cupcake was like a child hood memory. I also had one that was like a Girl Scout cookie, the one with coconut and caramel and chocolate. There was caramel in the cake, delicious. She gave us the biggest carrot cake cheesecake which two of us had to split. It had chunks of nuts, a hearty version and we loved it, the whipped cream really helped lighten it up. I did try the peanut butte

Incredible homemade food. We had both breakfast and lunch. The taste of the food was flavorful. The dessert menu is ON POINT and very unique. Thank you for a wonderful experience on a fall Sunday.

Stopped in today get some of the cheesecakes I had seen online. Tried the chocolate so far and it's delightful. Nice and creamy not too firm with an oreo style crust. They also offered 2 different gluten free options which is so appreciated. Wish they had some dye free cupcake options, hopefully in the future. Give them a shot if in Shipshewana!

Shawna Rae had such patient and friendly staffs and not to mention big, yummy portions of foods with affordable price! Hubby got a monster Reuben and it was HUGE and really meaty and cheesy with perfect sourness for the sauerkraut!! The BBQ chicken haystack was delicious and hearty too! The one we want to give a HUGE shoutout was the cheesecake- we got the lemon blueberry cheesecake and we finished the whole thing on the spot because it was that yummy. The cheesecake has a balance of sweetness and it was interestingly light and fluffy with the whip cream, cheesecake and homemade blueberry jam. It was the most delicious cheesecake I’ve eaten in a while. Definitely worth multiple trips here!

We stopped by this cute bakery and tried 6 of her cheesecakes. They were absolutely delicious and suuuper unique! Our favorite by far was the Pina Colada cheesecake with the Banana Split Cheesecake as a close second. You MUST make a stop to her bakery while in Shipshewana! It will be one of our regular stops when we visit from here on out!!
