Shaw House Bed & Breakfast

This is a wonderful historical place to stay with it filled with antiques of many kinds and 4 post beds.|The innkeeper Mary Shaw was very gracious host.|It also has a wonderful view from the back porch of the very expansive marsh.|The continental breakfast was good both mornings.||For future visitors to go upstairs, it has steep and narrow stairs bc it is an older house|||My wife and got the upstairs room bc it was the only room with a kize size and I'm a tall person.|The bed was wonderful. But the room heat didn't properly work. Also the sink and shower knobs were very hard to turn!

When we arrived we were given a warm welcome by Mary and Summer, and shown several downstairs rooms that we were welcome to use. Our room was large and generously furnished with a four-poster bed and a private bathroom. We were able to separately control the cooling of our room and we had a comfortable night's sleep. The breakfast was Continental with freshly-made coffee, and a view of the marshes. We really enjoyed our one-night stay, especially the friendly hospitality of Mary, and were made to feel almost like house guests. We would happily go back again.

Mary was charming host and her house is a colonial showpiece. If you want a true southern experience this is your place. You can sit in her family room or on the porch and relax looking out to a lovely salt marsh. Play the piano, play games, watch TV or surf the net, or curl up on a comfy sofa and read a good book, you have plenty of spaces to explore. We will definitely stay here again!!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Mary who is truly amazing and personable. We were made very welcome and the breakfast was delicious. Our room was very comfortable with lovely antique furniture in keeping with the rest of the house.Overall a most relaxing three days stay after a good deal of travelling in Minnesota and the Carolinas.

Ms. Mary is the sweetest, and I call her the First Lady of Georgetown. I love that it's so close to historic downtown, and sits on the marsh. It's like taking a trip back in time. I highly recommend it!
