Shakra's Deli

Hungry in Jensen Beach, I searched for sandwiches and the first place that popped up was Shakra’s Deli. Figured I’d give it a shot — and I’m glad I did. When I first walked in, it seemed a little dark, but then I looked around and saw the place packed with people enjoying lunch. Always a good sign. I went with a cold triple threat: homemade roast beef, ham, and turkey. This sandwich was absolutely LOADED — stacked high with fresh meat and all the fixings I ordered. The star of the show was the homemade roast beef. Tender, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The bread was soft and fresh, and the whole thing came together perfectly. This place was highly recommended by a friend and was told this family business has been around since the 70’s. Came here for lunch and I was not disappointed. We ordered French Dip, grilled bologna sandwich, and spuds and mud fries. Subs were lightly toasted 👍extra points for that. The roast beef was thinly sliced and came medium. The jus made the perfect dip for my sub. The grilled thick cut bologna was also very good. We were told their 90 year old grandma made the gravy in the morning. Gravy was super tasty and went well with the fries. Service was friendly and attentive.

Learned so much! 1. Hot sandwiches are supposed to be cold in the middle. 2. Get your own beer from the cooler. Need a bottle opener? Fine but we're side eyeing you for not using your teeth. 3. It IS acceptable to argue with other customers so loudly you can be heard over the blasting music. Burny Pitt down the road has better brown gravy and the hot food comes out hot. :)

Very nice family felt diner. The food was great and the service was good too. You can tell this is a common spot for regulars. The waitress knew many guests by first name and greeted most with a hug. It was a great family environment. If you want a good meal and the feeling of family welcoming you home this is the restaurant for you.

This was my third visit. I love it more every time I go. I love really good tuna sandwiches. I’m very picky about what they’re made with. Shakra’ deli has a tuna sandwich that I drive all the way from Fort Pierce for. Amazing! We also tried the burger and steak fries with the gravy that they are famous for…delicious! It’s really laid-back inside. Seems like a good place to go chill out and watch a game. Eat some dinner or have lunch. Everyone is friendly and makes you feel valued. So this time when I went to Shakra’s, I had the Special Italian Supreme, it’s in the picture ! The sandwich was so scrumptious, you could taste every flavor in the bite.
