Jan's Place Restaurant and Bakery

Jan's place is an awesome breakfast place. We visited on Valentines day. Yes it was a little busy, but no problem for Jan's place. Very efficient staff. We we're given a buzzer. We waited no more than 10 minutes. That gave us time to look at the pastries ,muffins, and breads. Also offering the cutest Tshirts. They also have a cappuccino and espresso machine. We sat outside which was pretty awesome. Cutest little town with shopping and other restaurants. Very nice menu. Lots of choices. I ordered 2 eggs scrambled, a slab of ham, with 2 croquets served with a side of apple sauce and a small side of sourcream for the croquets. Also a giant muffin of you're choice. Our server Drew was super kind and attentive! Our food came out quickly and everything was wonderful. The Belgian waffle was one of the best I've had in a while and the signature spuds were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. They had indoor and outdoor seating, the atmosphere was great!

Great Breakfast spot ! The Sausage gravy and biscuits are some of the best I've had and my wife had blueberry pancakes and they were perfect ! Anyone who criticizes the food in this Restaurant must have lost their ability to taste . Try it for yourself , you won't be sorry ! The service is absolutely amazing . Every person that we've experienced here is very personable and very efficient. They have to be because the Restaurant is so busy. A sign of a very good establishment.

It wasn’t the best experience in all honesty. The restaurant was really busy when we went and there was no room to stand, everyone was crowded together waiting shoulder to shoulder. The food was under average, soggy waffles, burnt bagel, it was equal to what you would get at a grocery store and could make at home. Maybe the business affected the quality? The atmosphere of the restaurant was a bit odd with sports teams and beach theming? The food was heavily overpriced for what it was and the when we got the bill there were so many extra charges for operations, mandatory tip included of 15% and some other things. Overall 2/5 experience, don’t think I’ll be back.

So we went here just wanting to try a new place out. I wasn't impressed at all and neither were my wife and nieces. My wife thought the food was very mediocre and under seasoned. When you can easily make the breakfast you had out to eat better than paying for it, it becomes a let down. I am not big on breakfast so I ordered a Reuben ( my go to at a diner) and the bread was dry, almost no sauerkraut, meat tasted like it was steamed in bad flavored tap water. I didn't like it. Service was friendly but I had to wait a long time to find the server to request more water and sauce. Both nieces didn't like nor finish their breakfasts. I would say go to the cracker barrel instead for the same price breakfast but better food in the area. I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend it unfortunately. I
