Sebastian's Ale and Whiskey House

This is a nice local spot with an attractive bar and an unexpected dining experience. Let's start with the menu, a bevy of choices that are much more than your standard "bar" fare. Some stand-outs include the Italian Beef Eggrolls, a hearty salad that accompanies an entree and the meatloaf. Yes, I said meatloaf; served with roasted veggies, garlic mashed potatoes and smothered in BBQ sauce. Comfort food at it's finest. Seating is a mix of pub height tables and low-tops with these comfy velvet'esque chairs made for lingering over good food & cocktails. Rounding out the vibe is some fabulous outdoor furniture/seating (sad that season is coming to a close), back inside are wall-to-wall TV's to catch every possible game and a backroom with a pool table and a few slots. Stop in.

The menu has a lot of options. I also like the atmosphere; it's casual and friendly. I had the chopped salad and my hopes weren't high, but it exceeded my expectations. They also have a big drink menu and overall don't play games with prices (unlike another establishment nearby). Lots of TVs, so you can relax and have an enjoyable, unpretentious time. I will definitely go back, and Brookfield is now one of my favorite suburbs. You can get there via Metra in just half an hour from downtown Chicago, walk to this restaurant, then walk around this charming town. The architecture isn't cookie-cutter, not filled with housing developments nor strip malls. And the people seem really friendly.

Took my wife for a late Valentine's dinner, first time here and we both enjoyed the food, the service was excellent, and it had a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Will be coming back to check out the bar specials.

Stopped while in town for lunch and was more than pleased! Cute chairs for one - also very comfortable and not your typical bar type seat!! Great and fast service! Food delicious, portions huge and the fries come in little cute fryer baskets! Had the bruschetta chicken sandwich and my son had a burger.

The food was amazing, my friend and I ordered an appetizer, salad and a burger. What was very disappointing is the amount of wait time between courses. From the time we placed our food order to when we recieved the burger it was an hour and a half. Somehow everyone around us got the food quickly but not us. Unfortunately this just put a damper on our night, won't be going back to this location.
