Scotty Dogs is the best place east of the south side for authentic Chicago Hot Dogs. Remember it's illegal in Chicago for adults to put ketchup on a hot dog, drag it thru the Garden with tomatoes, pickles, onions, sport peppers, mustard and neon green relish with a sprinkle of celery salt all on a imported from Chicago popi seed bun, so fresh it was par cooked and steam finished. Authentic Vienna beef from Chicago, or any other combo of dogs on the menu. Incredible burgers too. And the shoe string French fries with crack pepper & salt are worth the drive. Car hop or table service. The Scotty Dog is always the place to be! We came across this place by accident. We were driving and happened to see it. This place is so good. They are a full service place. They will come to your car with menus and your food or you can sit at a picnic table and eat there. They have a great variety for hot dogs. They also have hamburgers, poutine and French fries. The menu is great and worth it. BE AWARE: THEY ARE CASH ONLY. They do have an atm on site if that's a problem. Everyone was so friendly and personable. I would come here again.

We were driving by this spot and decided to stop in. We were not disappointed. They offer car service so you don't ever have to get out in the heat, but also have 5 picnic tables with umbrellas. The staff is very friendly without seeming overly fake or annoying. The chili dog was really good, and short of not having curds, the poutine was awesome. It is cash only but they have a little armored all weather ATM next to the seating area. Along with the 2 kinds of hot dogs they offer (natural casing and jumbo beef) they also serve patty melts, root beer floats, and slush. Stop on by and grab some quick food.

Yum! I got the jumbo Rueben dog and my daughter got a regular dog with ketchup. Fabulous! Carhop service but there are also tables on property if you prefer not to eat in your car. CASH ONLY but if you forget there is an ATM on the property and an Easternbank across the street.

Scotty Dog is a trip back in time! A true drive-in with car hop service by smiling young folks! It looks very much like a 1950s movie set and offers picnic tables for those who prefer not to eat in their car. Now for the food! The hot dogs are simply amazing and delicious! You must try the true Chicago Dog, with it's crazy colorful garnishes! Italian roast beef, burgers, fries, cold drinks and dessert are frankly all good... But the dogs rule! NOTES: This is a cash only place and I'm pretty sure that there are no bathrooms. Also, don't forget to tip those hard working car hops!
