Scotty Browns Poipu

First time dining here. Had the blackened chicken cowboy salad. Next time I wouldn’t get it blackened because I’m not a big fan of pepper. I also had the grilled shrimp market green salad. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. I would’ve liked more than four. We asked for all romaine lettuce and they complied. We were charged a credit card surcharge so just be aware. I would definitely come back here and eat that again. Came back again and had the same shrimp market salad, which I liked. Unfortunately, my partner ordered the mahi sandwich. It had way too much sauce on it and the Mahi was overcooked and there’s jalapeño peppers in the coleslaw. He could not eat it. The manager was very nice and took it off the bill. We ordered a shrimp tempura Crunch roll instead to go. It came with scallions

We loved every last item we ordered - gyoza was perfect, the chicken sandwich with fries was incredible and GIANT , the dragon bowl was so flavorful and the drinks were awesome! Best food we had while in Kauai and that shocked us, to be honest! The hostesses, bartenders,and manager were all nice and appeared to be very happy to serve guests and our server was so friendly and attentive. We loved it!

Okay...great food and mixology...BUT - the service was awful. We stopped in for a quick bite at happy hour. We asked for a brunch menu for the next morning (just to look) and apparently they're employees don't know their sign says brunch. THEY DON'T SERVE BRUNCH in case you're wondering. After ordering a drink and two happy hour dishes we waited as others got service, drinks, food, etc. They comped our drink, but even now I'm having to wait to pay. It's like we didn't exist except for the manager who brought it drink and person who brought our food (our server only took our order and slowly cashed us out). Perhaps they don't like happy hour guests, but don't offer it then. I'd go for the food but lower expectations about service.

I recommend the poke and chips, and the dynamite crunch roll. My mate really liked the Sesame Ginger Goyza dumplings. Service was excellent on several occasions.

We came to this area to try to go to another restaurant without a reservation, but their bar was full. Being nearby, we randomly saw Scotty Browns and are SO happy we ended up here. We walked up and were immediately able to sit at the bar. Looking at the menu, we were actually overwhelmed by all the delicious sounding items, but landed on the dragon bowl with fried tofu, and the poke bowl. Both were outstanding. The dragon bowl was so full of flavor, warm and comforting, but not overly heavy. I cannot stop thinking about it. My husband got the poke bowl and loved all of the flavors and textures. Service was amazing, and the bartenders were all very friendly and helpful! Wish we were on the island longer so we could come back again!
