Scott County Public Library

I recently found myself stranded in Georgetown due to car problems and found great comfort in passing time at this incredible library. I was so impressed by the various programs and resources available such as the "experience kits" which allow members to try out new hobbies before investing a bunch of money to do so. Personally I spent a lot of time reading by the fireplace which made for a delightfully cozy experience. I was so impressed by this library I took a bunch of photos for my friends back home out of state - we all agreed we'd visit all the time if it was in our town. I am so happy for the community of Georgetown that they have this resource available!

Came here for the first time today since moving to Georgetown. The building is large and open and airy and bright. We stopped to marvel at the statues, quilts, and Japanese attire in the entranceway. We came to the information desk, and the librarian was helpful and friendly. She told us all of the perks and features (3D printing! Art gallery! Huge children’s section! KY room!) of the library. We went straight to the children’s section, and it was like a magical enchanted forest, with 2 trees inside, a Pegasus, and several 3D book characters. There is a a wide selection of books and other materials, plus plenty of toys. We saw signs for some fun programs and registered for one. I can’t wait to come back for it!

Kristen is our librarian who comes with the book mobile every other week in our neighborhood. My daughter and I love the library greatly but having Kristen bring the book mobile to our area every other week has been beyond a blessing. Not has Kristen remembered us and our names, and what kind of books we enjoy, but I love how she engages with my daughter and is getting to know us and others who visit the book mobile. My daughter loves getting to do a craft after picking out books as well as I enjoy talking about different books and getting to know Kristen. She is always so kind and thoughtful. I am so thankful to have Kristen not only apart of our access to books but to SCPL for everything they do to make reading accessible! Story time yoga for kids was wonderful! My 4-year-old granddaughter had the best time

I visited the technology area today. I needed some help printing a couple sentences to cut out and adhere to an art project. All of the staff members went above and beyond to help me figure out what I needed, as I hadn't been to the library in a very long time. I wanted to give a huge thank you to Jonathan in the technology center. He helped me perfectly cut the paper into the sizes and shapes that I needed. Simply went above and beyond! It made my day. I truly appreciated everyone's help and I'm thankful that we have such a great library.
