Scooter's BBQ

Amazing brisket! Must try the Choco-flan! Just save one for me. Tastes as good as it smells and the BBQ sauce... Yummy. If you don't go, you're missing out on the best restaurant in Gallup.

Super clean restaurant. The food was very good, we had the ribs and brisket. The coleslaw, Mac and cheese and fried okra were good as well. I really liked the Cole slaw it hand cranberries in it! The staff was cheerful and attentive. They kept checking on us and live music tonight. Win!

Okay so for Gallup this place was great. I was excited when we got a Dickey's BBQ but Dickey's sucks everytime. It's dry and over cooked. Sooo my expectations for another BBQ joint in Gallup were high. Parking is cool, you get a glimpse of the air port. We walked in to open table seating. No wait. You order at the register. Everything comes by itself. The Spare Ribs were pretty juicy and tender. Almost fall of the bone but not quite. The pulled pork was juicy but not much flavor in the bark. Coleslaw is a little on the sweet side with pineapple tidbits but I don't mind that at all. The Bbq bake beans are delicious. They actually taste like beans not overly sauced like other ones with bits of meat chunks in it. Love that for them. The chocolate pudding was also great. Service could have bee

The service was great, the food got to me fast. The atmosphere was great, typical bbq place. The food was ok. Sausage was dry and overcooked, the rice was overcooked. The Brisket Sandwich was ok but average. The cream corn was pretty good, IMO. I will go back however to try other menu items and add to this review. As a disclaimer, I am originally from a small Texas cattle town. My expectations for bbq are high. There is a song written about it from a band called Roosevelt Road, song is Dalhart. That explains my feelings about bbq. I hope the next time I go that the food will be better. It is a nice change for the Gallup food scene though.
