Scialo's Bakery of Riverside

Me and my friends come here all the time when we’re in town. We love the fresh bakery goods and they always have the variety! I’ve been waiting for them to have a nice to go strawberry shortcake, and today they did! So delicious as always 10 out of 10 every time

Really disappointed with the 3 pastries I bought today. Not one dessert tasted good. Nothing was rich, buttery or sweet. Their chocolate frosted donut was a decent size and only $2, but the frosting was crunchy and not smooth and the dough itself tasted old. The cinnamon roll was pretty damn big but there’s a reason why it was only $2.59 when they’re normally $4+. It was just dry and needed more butter. They did put enough cinnamon though throughout the roll. Their blueberry danish was also large and $2.59, but might’ve been the best out of the 3. The blueberry compote itself had a weird taste but the little icing on it balanced that out. The dough itself was flaky and not bad. Everything came to only $7.70, but it was really worth about $4. The only reason why I’m giving them 2 star

Great selection of pastry, baked goods, also the breads are awesome, just wish they would leave the crust on the pizza slices🫤 but other than that, love it.

This is a lovely little shop that offers delicious treats for very low prices! I got a Apple Danish, Cinnamon Bun, a Lemon square, and a bottle or water for only 8$ it was a relaxed setting and quality service. I strongly recommend.

Update February 2023: What a successful transition with excellent Manager Christina and right by her side is Baker Emily. They’ve just created a brand new recipe for the cinnamon rolls. Freshly baked and bigger. Very glad to see the specialty Italian cookies so well made still. And the Scialo’s Italian bread is still the best in the United States. ------- Update July 2021: Jen, the tremendous manager of the bakery is leaving after almost 31 amazing years with the two Scialo's bakery locations, Seekonk and Riverside (with 17 years in the Riverside location since its opening). The new manager, Christina, will be taking the helm with big shoes to fill. Looking forward to seeing the bakery maintain its current level of success.
