I was very impressed with the amount of information on my ancestors that they had. One of my family lines were included in a hardbound book they had for sale. We bought it.

Some extremely nice ladies allowed me the privilege of touring the museum outside of normal hours. It was my good fortune. The Schuyler County Jail Museum is a hidden gem. The contents of the inside of the building are much larger than the exterior would suggest. The museum focuses mainly on Schuyler County and includes all sorts of historical artifacts. There is the actual jail itself as well as displays of war uniforms, airline uniforms, railroad items, older physicians instruments and barber's chairs as well as antique furniture, century old clothing, and much more including helmets and weapons used by the Germans and Japanese during World War 2. A great learning experience for schoolchildren and adults as well. Well worth your visit.
