Sauce on the Side

We are in town for work/tournament and wanted something not fast food but that we could pick up quickly to head back our hotel. Oh my good goodness!! This place is a hidden gem. Easy to order on line and easy to pickup. The calzone options are ridiculous!!! We couldn’t decide!! The portions are generous and the flavor is amazing. We HAVE to go back to try more variations. 10 out of 10 will go back.

I walked into Sauce on the Side just hoping for a solid calzone… and instead I left questioning whether I’d just met my soulmate. I ordered the Meat Me in St. Louis, and let me tell you, this thing isn’t a calzone, it’s a meat-filled love letter. The crust was so perfectly golden it looked like it wakes up every morning and moisturizes. The filling? Enough savory goodness to make me momentarily forget I’m supposed to be watching my cholesterol. Halfway through, I considered calling NASA because I’m pretty sure this calzone launched me into a different emotional orbit. Even the dipping sauce deserved its own acceptance speech. If you’re looking for a sign to try this calzone, here it is. Just do it. And prepare to fall in love. With a calzone. No shame.

Delicious! Ski soda! Iced tea was very good. The calzones were so tasty. Fresh ingredients.

Delicious! My wife and I and one of her friends ordered ahead for our dinner on our way to a concert nearby. The calzones were ready when we arrived and they were hot and delicious. I got the Pancho Villa which had chorizo in it, and my wife got the Fatty B. She ordered hers “well done” since she likes things a little bit crispy, but it was the same level of doneness as mine. She also ordered a side of spicy red sauce, but it was not in her order. Even so, we all marveled at the size, flavor and quality of the calzones, and we all felt like they were a very good deal for the price. We all said we would definitely come back!

This was my first time & the employee was extremely helpful. I ordered the monthly special Always Sunny. It was delicious from the soft dough, to the mix of ingredients & the cherry pepper sauce on the side.
