Sarku Japan

This is simply the best mall Japanese I have ever eaten. It has been consistently good over the years and I was pleasantly surprised today given how sad the mall has gotten overall. Yes, the prices have consistently increased over the years but that is everywhere. I feel like the amount of food I got has been consistent over the years as well. The chicken is freshly cooked, the vegetables aren’t overcooked and the rice is well prepared. What more can you ask for? Even the sweet tea was good. The food court area was worn and dirty but that’s not Sarku’s fault. I walked up, ordered and got my fresh food in under 5 minutes.

Every single time I stop by, they deliver the same consistent quality, flavor, and service that keeps me coming back. The line can look long during peak hours, but it always moves fast because the team back there works like a machine — organized, quick, and professional. You can tell they know what they’re doing. The food is always hot, fresh, and cooked right in front of you, which I love. Their chicken teriyaki is honestly unmatched — perfectly seasoned, juicy, and never dry. My chicken was undercooked. I got all 3 meats. Omg. I’m so glad I noticed or I would’ve got food poisoning. The line was really long and I’m sure others got chicken that was undercooked with mine. Another thing..there’s no seasoning on this stuff. Literally just the sauce they give. & they charge you for yum yum. The veggies & shrimp are barely steamed or cooked.

I use to come here often but they just get greedier in the meat portion. They go up on their prices which is understandable but the amount of the meat stay the same! Last time I came, chicken teriyaki was close to $9 and they increase their extra meat price. Now it’s $10 and their extra meat price increase as well AGAIN! This guy had the audacity to give me burnt meat top it off the portion of the meat I paid for was not worth it!! Their Tuesday special is NOT WORTH getting it just as their last special buy one get one for $6 (I think)!! Unless you’re very hungry, I do not recommend this place!! I GUARANTEE that you will get RIPPED off!!

Food is always good. It’s the potion size for my review. If I pay for double chicken and they give me the same amount as a regular order I would think that is a problem. I waited for 10 minutes for the chicken to be done grilling too so it’s not like they only had that one scoop left. Price goes up but the food quantity always goes down it seems.
