I’ve visited this place twice now, and both times I’ve been impressed with the quality of the food - fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Yes, it takes a little time, but that’s because everything is made to order, which they’re upfront about. If you’re expecting something pre-made or super quick, this might not be the right spot but if you’re looking for a thoughtfully prepared meal, it’s well worth the wait. Some reviews mentioned the coffee not being standout, and I’d agree it’s not their main focus. If you’re after a basic latte, it’s perfectly enjoyable but don’t come expecting a coffeehouse-style menu. That said, the food more than makes up for it. I was passing through for work and stopped by here thinking it was just coffee shop. What i found instead was so much more. This is a delightful cafe. So cozy inside, the menu description hit every food sense I had. Without having much time to stay and enjoy everything on the menu, I opted to order take out. The choice went to the gyro. The size of the food was enough for 2 people (I did not share any though). It was so delicious. You can tell from the moment you step through the door this place is a treasure. The menu is beautifully planned out and the food is high quality. Any time I am back in the area I will be making a beeline for this cafe. I should also note the coffee was wonderful also.

Five star service from the moment we stepped inside. Personal attention from the chef who described his specials and gave recommendations. The food was better than anything that has graced our palates in recent memory. I had to fight my kids off of my stuffed French Toast. We all three cleaned our plates. Location was beautiful and comfortable. Cannot wait to return during our travels.

I really feel like ive been living under a rock because i haven't tasted something this good in a very long time. Everything about this dish had my taste buds dancing with each and ever bite i took. I forget the gentleman name that took our order , but he was wonderful. Havent had service like that in a very long time. He took the time to tell us in details how he prepared each dish. You can tell with each bite i took this food was made with love and passion. I even took it home and made a sandwich out of the two biscuits i had left over with the very tasteful chicken paddy. It was my first time eating at the Sandy Hook Cafe and I was impressed by the serene ambiance of outdoor seating overlooking a stream. For brunch I ordered the crab cake over blackened eggs which sounded like a crab cake eggs benedict. It came with a very large side salad. My husband ordered a similar entree with smoked salmon with a dill sauce and capers over blackened eggs. Both were delicious and are highly recommended. Overall it was a great experience. The waitress was friendly and the chef came out and was very welcoming, describing all the dishes. We had been invited by my in-laws to celebrate our anniversary and they must have told him as he wished us a happy anniversary and even gave us complimentary cannolis before we left!
