Sanctuary Roasting

My friends and I stopped by earlier this morning to pick up some coffee beans. I recently started my espresso-making journey and was eager to get my hands on high-quality beans. Vatche was awesome - he gave us a full tour of the roastery and made us espresso drinks while talking shop with us. We felt right at home and left well-caffeinated. Great beans and blends with lots of love put into and no pretentiousness. He loves his craft. I picked up a bag of the Artisan House Blend Espresso and Midnight Oil Blend, and will be eagerly waiting for them to degas. Can’t wait to come back.

My son had developed a love for espresso while we were in Italy and I bought the Sanctuary beans for him. He fell in love with them and the reclosable packaging other beans did not have. Not to mention the smoothness of the coffee. I believed that anything associated with Vatche would have to be of the highest quality as I had dined at Cracked Pepper for years and ranked his Bread Pudding number one, never to be matched anywhere else I also received my order quickly since I have relocated to the opposite side of the country. We highly recommend their coffee beans. And look forward to enjoying them far into the future

Fresno has finally joined the coffee bean scene thanks to Chef Vatche. Roasting coffee is half science half passion much like elevated cooking. Just like wine and the sourced grapes that vary by location and weather, coffee beans vary by source and weather conditions. One formula to mix and roast will not produce the best blend; you need to vary the elements to match the variation of the bean. That's what Chef Vatche brings to the equation, a deep knowledge and the palate to create small-batch coffee roasted to perfection. My recommendation is to talk to him, tell him your preferences and your preferred brewing method, he will guide you to the right blend, correct grind, and process to get the most out of your coffee.

We have a Breville Barista Express espresso machine. After using whole beans from many big name brands from big stores, our friend recommended using fresh coffee beans. We decided to try fresh coffee beans from local roaster/coffee shop Sanctuary Coffee Roasting, specifically the “Espresso”. And we were surprised of the huge difference it made! Our espresso now comes out amazing, full of crema, and balanced flavors. We totally recommend for your at-home brewing and espresso pulls!

I tried three different coffee beans and they are all amazing! I really love the midnight oil. I like my coffee black and loved the flavor. Will definitely be coming back for more.
