Salt Water Grille

Very busy place on Saturday in the evening. Plenty of parking, and the food is delicious. It was very unusual to see inside different types of chairs and tables. There were counter chairs along the bar. Regular tables and chairs. And very tall tables and chairs (similar like near bar stand). The tables are squeezed very tight, you sit almost back to back with another guests. Plus the tall chairs are extremely uncomfortable, almost couldn't feel the blood circulation in my legs. I would say this was the only thing I didn't like.

So good!! We had seafood and they did not disappoint! Our waitress was wonderful!

Ate here twice on my recent trip to Gloucester and enjoyed both meals. Food came out relatively quickly and was good. I'd eat here again the next time in in Gloucester for sure.

What an oasis in a sea of blah, so-so restaurants today….the owners were hands on, super friendly and so hospitable. We felt at home the minute we arrived - Jack, one of the owners, was bartending and was quite entertaining on his own - think Sam at Cheers, but funnier. And the chef/owner Pat came out and we were able to visit < he recommended the blackened haddock tacos with chipotle aioli and pickled red onions - I’m so glad I listened to him! (Always listen to the chef recommendations!). We started with the firecracker shrimp - excellent. We had to sample the fish chowder of course - when in Gloucester….so I had the tacos amd my partner had the Clam Roll with fries, coleslaw and a pickle - all Was exactly the way you hope it will be every time. Great restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating and bar area, serving the best clam chowder I had during a two week New England Coast road trip. I also ordered the True Grit Burger which was cooked to perfection and massive in size. They certainly don't skimp on the French fries or onion rings either. The service was great. Staff was friendly and food was delivered quickly. I would definitely visit again.
