Thank you so much for inviting us again to Salt & Straw. We also had the opportunity to attend the Phoenix Arcadia opening, and my wife was excited because she loves ice cream, and Salt & Straw is absolutely the best. Salt & Straw, the Portland, Oregon-based artisanal ice cream company, was co-founded by cousins Kim and Tyler Malek in 2011. It's famous for its unique, handcrafted flavors made with high-quality, local ingredients and monthly rotating menus. They create memorable culinary experiences with a focus on community, expanding from a single cart to over 40 shops and offering nationwide shipping. The name comes from the tradition of putting salt on strawberries for flavor, a simple idea for creating their innovative ice cream creations. My wife chose one of the limited edition flavo
The second worse ice cream I've had. The pumpkin pie and tiramisu (all one flavor) was borderline disgusting. I couldn't eat it. My wife's almond was a little better but still bad. We threw both of our scoops in the trash. The ice cream wasn't sweet enough. But there was more to it than that. The taste was not there at all. We wanted to try a new ice cream place and came out sorely disappointed. We should have tried a sample first. This place was worse than Jenny's in downtown Scottsdale. Very little flavor, and it needed to be a little sweeter.
Loved the interesting flavors, including the vegan options. The server Devin's top customer service was instrumental in helping me pick a flavor for my waffle bowl as well as the 2 pints I also bought. Clean dining area, outside seating and unisex bathroom.
The ice cream is very good, but don’t expect the line to go quickly. The sign about tasting is a real thing. We watched all 3 groups in front of us sample 4-8 flavors before deciding on one.
This location had 3 clearly labeled vegan options: Freckled Mint Chocolate Chip, Hazelnut Cookies and Cream, Strawberry and Coconut Water Sherbet. There is also a rotating seasonal flavor menu with one vegan option. December’s flavor was The Great Cookie Swap and it was amazing! It tasted like Christmas in ice cream form. The ice cream is expensive but sooo good. They offer samples, the staff is very nice and portions are big. Parking isn’t great in the area with only pay to park available on street or in the nearby garage.
