Rumi’s Garden

I tried Rumi’s Kitchen for lunch, and it didn’t disappoint. I stopped by when they were in the Kalamazoo Avenue location on Thursday, and they were decently friendly when they took my order. The menu has a decent range of options, and prices are mostly okay. I decided to try the Afghani wrap along with fries. The wrap was large, and the fries, while delicious, were a bit too much. The wrap had chicken and great flavor with some carrot salad and sauce in there. My meal was quite filling, and I’m glad I gave them a try. Grand Rapids’ food scene is made richer by the addition of this restaurant to the community.

AFGHANI FOOD! (my reading is based only on the Mantu dish) Rumi’s Garden is out in the mediterranean island parking lot today until about 7 PM BUT APPARENTLY, they have a brick and water location at 3038 Eastern that I wasn’t even aware of. Chicken Kabob and Mantu. This is my second experience with Mantu (the first one was at a different restaurant and it didn’t go great). Now I have a proper frame of reference for that dish after enjoying it in its proper presentation.

This restaurant was the epitome of FRESH. The grilled chicken & lamb was marinated and charred to perfection. Very delicious. Brought my friend who never has tried afghan food before and he loved it 10/10.

My girlfriend and I stopped tonight and it was delicious! We both got lamb, but with different meals. It was some of the best I've had, the rice and rest of the dish was really great too! The people were super friendly 😊 Definitely going again!
