Rubio's Coastal Grill

We stopped in for a quick lunch. We’ve been Rubio’s customers for years. While our food (‘California Bowl’ & ‘Baja Grill burrito’) were very good, the interior of this location was looking a bit ‘run down.’ The upholstered seats were shot and needed to be replaced (a while ago). Most of the available tables needed a good cleaning. Glass doors needed cleaning because of hand and fingerprints. This gave the restaurant a bit of a ‘run down’ appearance. Saw two other guests cleaning off the table before being seated. Staff were responsive & friendly. Salsa bar was ok, but not spotless. From our view of the food preparation area, appeared everything was in good order. Cost of our meals included two additional ‘sides.’ Restrooms were in good order and well supplied. The wife and I used to visit this location all the time years ago, but recently it has gone down hill. Normally the food always tastes fresh and vibrant, while recently it seems like it is either not being turned over quick enough or some is being reused past its self life. The cabbage wasn't as crispy in my lobster taco, and the lobster was dry and disappointing; the shrimp taco was so so, and the street corn was discolored. My wife's Original Fish Taco was mushy instead of the normal crispy and fresh corn taco. Normally I can kill a plate, but couldn't finish it due to how sad it was. The kitchen staff seemed to not have things organized either; two of them were going back and forth about giving out the wrong item, while the front girl rolled her eyes at them and shook her head like it

Always the best fish tacos in the area. Have yet to find a spot that tops their fish especial. I only miss the old days where they piled the tacos with cabbage. Now corporate has caused a huge reduction in the amount they put on. Still bomb tacos just gotta ask for extra extra cabbage. So they match the version of 10 years ago.

I stopped going to this location years ago because the food wasn't as good anymore. I decided to give them another try on taco Tue this week during my lunch break and I was blown away by the service and the delicious food. Tacos were amazingly flavorful like I remember them. I went back at night to get more because I was craving the flavor again. The salsa bar was super clean and stocked. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I will be back for sure, thank you!!!!!

The employees of this store are always friendly. My orders are correct even though I make a lot of changes. The salsa bar is cleaned and typically completely full. $2.50 for an original taco makes this one of my Taco Tuesday places. Highly recommend.
