Roost Fried Chicken

I was born and raised in the Southeastern US and can confidently say the food at The Roost ain’t just the best Southern food west of the Mississippi—it’s just plain good. Slap ya mama good. The chicken ‘n’ waffles and sweet tea is my favorite brunch in Bozeman. The “See Rock City” barn decor and such adds a nice nostalgic touch. Even when I’m in Tennessee visiting my folks, I’m looking forward to the next time I’ll be hitting up The Roost! A note to The Roost staff: I presheatecha!

Fast, friendly and delicious . Would be a fun place to visit on the patio when it's not snowing. Chicken was tender and waffles were fluffy. My husband really enjoyed the Nashville hot chicken sandwich as well. From Southern California, we are hot chicken connoisseurs, and this hit the spot.

We bought the fried chicken and entrées to go, and it was delicious and very flavorful. The crispy fries, the mac and cheese with a touch of toasted bacon, were delicious, and the salad had just the right dressing. The service is fast and they prepare it instantly. Highly recommended.

Cute and clean spot but disappointing food the tenders are fresh but not crispy. I traded out the comeback sauce for pepper gravy but it was overly salty 🙁 but worst was the Mac and cheese it was definitely not a southern style nicely baked with creamy cheese and flavor. It was barely cheese and bland fit for a little kid (come on man I want to love this place).I got side biscuit for a $1 for one should be 2 and not even come with butter I did snag honey 🍯 near the iced tea. The paper basket in a bag was the to go container 😞. It does feel like everything is homemade but doesn’t have “soul” or southern flavors.

Food: overall tasted good! Hot and fresh. Not huge portions. Service: Server was friendly. It is a walk up and order establishment. Atmosphere: really loved the patio!! Had enough space and room. Inside is a little tight.
