Customer Reviews
My wife and I had a great dinner experience at Roja. Really awesome hospitality. James has an amazing drink menu, get the BOB! Roberto's food menu is excellent. I ended up with the fish special for dinner, which was great. We had the lobster toast and ceviche for apps which were delicious. For dessert the panna cotta was tart and tasty and the bread pudding was excellent. Highly recommend Roja!
We were walking down State Street and happened to see this restaurant, so we decided to give it a try. Though we didn't have reservations we were seated right away. Our server John was excellent! He'd come by periodically to check on us and to pour more wine as needed. He recommended a really good Cabernet Franc that was reasonably priced. We had a Ribeye and Wild Mushroom Lasagna and both were really tasty. The Ribeye had two steaks on the plate and cooked perfectly.
This was absolutely the best restaurant I have ever been to! The food melts in your mouth. We were in Los Altos for the evening and had no idea where to eat, but we chose this place and still cannot stop thinking about it. I’m quite the food critic, but this was divine. Seriously. I would drive two hours to Los Altos just to eat here again. I had the Mission Fig Agnolotti, and I just can’t stop thinking about it. The bread and browned butter were so delicious. We got seconds, and I even wanted to take the brown butter home with me haha! I never write reviews for restaurants, but this place deserves it. It has become my absolute favorite! My mouth is still watering
I visited during their soft opening with friends. The food is amazing! Not a typical American cuisine, the chef added a fine touch to each dishes, even a simple spaghetti just taste amazing! They also serve the Beef Wellington, which was finely cook, the meat is so soft cover by a layer of bread. The place is spacy, with nice decoration. The owner is super friendly and cool! I haven't got to try their cocktail yet, but definitely try those next time!!
Roja took over where ASA used to be, and it’s fantastic! They kept much of the original ASA menu, and the head chef is still from the original team. If you liked ASA, you’ll definitely love Roja too. It’s less crowded, slightly more affordable, and the same bartender/manager is still making the best cocktails in downtown Los Altos — definitely try the milk-clarified cocktail!
