I used to come here with family a couple of decades ago, and I liked it. They recently renovated it, and they made it even better! The new outdoor bar in the back is very nice, has a great atmosphere, and was a lot of fun on a warm summer night. The outdoor seating was packed, but it didn’t feel crowded and talking was still easy. We had the Sunset Sangria while we waited for dinner, and it was really good! Good fruit taste with zero aftertaste. For dinner, I had the Lobster Tail + Shrimp Oreganata, which was very fresh (it also comes with a side of pasta and sauce). The shrimp had a sauce that added just the right amount of spice to make it a unique dish. We had a great time at Rod’s Tavern! I admit I like the new one even better than the old one. NOTE: Rod’s doesn’t take reservations—f

This was our second visit here, and while the restaurant itself is beautiful inside and out, with a great location and excellent service, the food was once again very disappointing. I ordered the Brick Chicken (marinated airline chicken breast with grilled artichokes, two morsel size pieces of the latter, and baby carrots), and it was awful. The chicken was so dry and overcooked that I should have sent it back. The portion was small—better suited for a kids’ menu—but the real issue was how poorly it was cooked. My Greek salad wasn’t much better. I dislike when tomatoes and cucumbers are minced into tiny pieces, and the feta cheese was dry and tasted like it came straight from a bulk supplier. At this point, the only reason I’d return is for their drinks—and maybe the pretzels, which I h

Just darn good. We've been three times, and it's been great each time. The food is delicious. The servers are great. It's nice to find a place where you not only get what you pay for, but feel welcomed. Ava was our most recent server. She was excellent.

Where do I begin….my friends and I obsessed with Rods is borderline unhealthy. We went exactly one time at the end of Summer and we bring it up in our group text chat at least once a day whenever someone experiences a minor inconvenience, “Should we get Rods?” Amazing menu, food lives up to the hype, absolutely some of the best service I’ve ever had I wish I could remember our waitresses name who made sure we got the last 7 loaves of rosemary focaccia to no judgement at all of that request. Heavenly dessert and drinks as well. If I lived down the shore all year, I would be at Rods at least once a week. Also notably looks recently renovated? All of the paint, furniture, etc was immaculate like it was built the day before we got there. Also no wait at all for a group of 6 on a Thursday night

Came here for happy hour. Ordered a menu cocktail, which is $2 off during HH and it had Kettle one listed as the base alcohol on the menu(would be $14 after 2 off). I watched the bartender pour Tito’s as the base. Tito’s cosmos are also listed as $10 during HH so I assumed she was giving me the other HH deal rather than the $2 off deal which I was good with. I looked at the bill and was charged $14, so for the full cocktail price less the $2, for a cocktail that should have had kettle one in it and not Tito’s. Next, I ordered a Pinot noir, house. A specific brand is on the HH menu for $7, which I did not ask for so that’s on me. I was served Imagery, which was the more expensive Pinot noir on the menu ($12 vs the house of $9). Why serve me the most expensive when I asked for house? Trul
