My husband booked 2 nights here as a surprise for our birthdays. It's in a great location to explore Rockland and it's a beautiful building. My husband is a huge Edward Hopper fan and did not realize this was the Talbot House which he painted in 1926. That absolutely made his stay! The only negatives for us were the beds were pretty hard and unfortunately ment an uncomfortable nights sleep. The other one was we were in room #4 and there is obviously a room above and each morning we were woke at 4.30am then again at 6am until 6.30am with footsteps which were pretty loud. The shower was amazing! The rooms are clean and have everything you would need. We were aware there was limited breakfast but for us that was fine and didn't bother us. I missed out on the blueberry pie the first night

This is an absolutely beautiful property and is perfect for a stay during Lobsterfest! This is a historic home that has been converted into a BnB in exactly the way they all should be... easy check-in, stairs and floors that don't creak, beautiful rooms (we stayed in #6), electrical outlets everywhere you could possibly need them, great A/C, cozy fireplace, loads of extra pillows and linens and, most importantly, an incredible three-head shower in the remodeled bath. This place has all the historic charm while providing the modern qualities people want. The grounds are lovely and the owners are delightful people. We highly recommend!

When we first arrived at the house, we were a bit taken aback. The front yard was overgrown with bushes and trees, making it difficult to even see the sign. The flower pots were empty out front, and the surrounding neighborhood was rundown—old furniture and random items were scattered along the curbs. It immediately gave us a sense of unease. If you're thinking of arriving early, don’t bother. Check-in is strictly at 4:00 PM—no exceptions. We arrived at 3:50 PM and still had to wait outside. Inside, the house has a noticeable odor, which could be attributed to its age. There’s no one there to welcome you; instead, you’ll find a basic envelope with your name on it containing the room key. The house was dark when we entered, which added to an overall cold and uninviting atmosphere. That said

Two friends and I recently stayed in three of the inn's rooms for two nights in mid July. We arrived late in the evening, but were able to easily check in with simple instructions sent by email. The rooms were nicely sized, comfortable, and individually-decorated like you were a guest in a friend's home. The daily treat was a homey touch and we appreciated conveniences like the guest refrigerator in the butler's pantry that kept our picnic supplies cold.

My wife and I booked a room with Talbot house for this weekend. After we booked my daughter had a medical emergency and we had to postpone our trip. I asked for either a credit or refund due to our situation but Mark wouldn’t make an exception. I spoke to a women named Mary yesterday and she mentioned she could help us. When I advised Mark of this he said this is because Mary doesn’t like to say no to people and he would have a talk with her. All the other hotels we booked with in the area refunded our prepayments understanding this was high season and they would fill up right away. Not this place. So I didn’t cancel our reservation, why free up a room so they could double their money? He even said we could send someone else in our place, while we sit in a hospital room with my daughter… w
