Roanoke Public Library

Unfortunately, I've had several bad experiences all with the same person who works here. Both in-person and over the phone, she makes it clear she couldn't care less about helping a patron, will rudely cut you off, and make you feel completely unwelcome in a place so important for our community, a place meant to be inclusive and welcoming. It's a real shame. I understand that library staff are so underpaid and unfairly expected to take on more roles than it can possibly afford to be. But this is not an excuse to treat your patrons as if they are beneath you. I hate to think of this person ruining the library experience for anyone else with her entitled, dismissive, and overall disrespectful attitude. Libraries are awesome, but this employee is giving them a bad name.

Wifi was OK but not super fast (24Mbps Download, 28 Upload).

Very helpful staff. Love the Kindle lending library option and the interlibrary loans. If they don't have it, most likely they can get it for you.

Library is very welcoming and well kept. Librarian is polite and helpful.
