RJ's Deli and Store

Very disappointing sub spot. We've been wanting to try this place out for months given all the great reviews. What we got was extremely disappointing. The Rueben, nearly $15, had stale bread, and barely any meat. The Italian sub we got wasn't much better. All the ingredients looked good, but nothing really stood out. It all tasted very bland, and not worth the price at all. $60 for 3 sandwiches and no one enjoyed it. You're better off going to a Jimmy John's or a Firehouse Subs. Edit since the owner would rather be petty then honest: I'm glad that you had enough time to stalk my review history, must be a slow day at the shop, that's not surprising. You're right though. I've been here multiple times. Ordered delivery and gone in person. When the sub is made well it's great! The problem is the consistency. Sometimes the sub is overflowing with meat, other times there are only two slices. Today I added mustard to my sub and it was dripping mustard, wayyyy to much. Sometimes the coleslaw is great. Today, not so much... I really wish there was consistency. Not sure I'll be back for a bit.

So I was hungry coming from the DMV, and I saw this little mom and pop shop. RJs has very pleasantly surprised me with the quality of their food. The Ultimate Italian has a tangy, full feel and is very pleasant. I'd recommend it here, It's very homely.

Im learning that just because its not in the downtown sector, it doesn't mean it isn't good. For those of you that read my post you know that I loved me some Primo's... And I loved what I have tried at Honey baked ham. But if you are looking for a real Italian (or close to) this where you go. If you have ever been to the "the Deli" in Herndon this place is exact replica. They are almost identical! Either way the service and hospitality was great and sandwich even better. My only knock was that I wish they would add more meat in their sub which "the Deli" does a better job at. I had the crazy italian as you can see. Restaurant was clean and people were nice. The same or about the same quality as a subway. Wouldn’t really call this a deli though. Was disappointed I thought this going to be a real sandwich deli and wasn’t.
