Restaurant Gastrognome

The service was great. I was very surprised by how good the food was, the Ribeye was amazing and the pasta was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.

I posted my review on yelp but wanted to share my experience on here.. it was a perfect night for us! First we were greeted by the manager who was absolutely fantastic, she took us to our table which was by the fireplace and then promptly got us water and bread. She also recommended us drinks which we got and loved. We then asked her opinion on food which she gave plenty but we went with her recommendation pepper steak and a pasta. Everything came out in a good time and the food was amazing. We walked away from this restaurant and talked every since!

I had not been in a while, but I am always amazed that for a place "away" from a bigger population how great the food is! This time we loved the French Onion soup, the Rack of Lamb and the Surf and Turf, delicious! I have loved anything I ordered and the one time an issue arose it was taken care of quickly and no hassle. I splurged this time, but there are a wide range of options here. Worth stopping for any great occasion!

This restaurant is right off the man loop in Idyllwild. They have good views of the town with indoor and outdoor seating. The food was good. $15-20 for a meal. Fresh bread was good. Our main issue was the service. We were left at our table for long stretches. It was like they were so focused on cleaning that they forgot about the customers they were serving. We had been here before and today the vibe was off. Good food but service needs to improve.

This place was disappointing. We came in on a Thursday night for my birthday and were very underwhelmed. The restaurant was nearly empty and the front dining space was being used as storage. There were so many boxes lined up in the entry that we almost thought they were closed. We sat by the fireplace, which was no longer lit and was puffing out smoke the entire time. Despite there being a lot of staff on hand, no one ever put another log on or addressed the fireplace the whole time we were there. Since there were not a lot of people dining, the staff and kitchen was rather loud which was distracting. It almost felt like we were inconveniencing the staff by being there. Not only was the ambiance less than appealing, I ordered a warm cocktail that was cold by the time they brought it to me.
