Almost Heaven Idyllwild

What an amazing experience for a Saturday morning ritual. Almost Heaven has the best sourdough I’ve ever tried, their French pastries are hand made each week and cooked to perfection, you can taste the love in every layer. She also makes these amazing vegan cookies that are healthy and to die for! If you haven’t tried their stuff it’s worth it, plus they are very reasonably priced offerings. Gabrielle 🌀🌈🦚 has created such an ephemeral, sensational environment to show up and get your baked goods, meet your neighbors, and deepen our strength as a community. By Almost Heaven being here every Saturday, it has brought so much life to this little parking lot set up. Can’t wait for them to open the actual bakery up here!

Incredible! Such kindness. Such taste! I had the Chocolate Croissant and Chocolate Chip Cookie. I am pretty sensitive to foods and unfortunately lots of desserts make me feel bad. But at Almost Heaven this is not the case!! They say "Love the Food that Loves you Back" (I don't know who said that but it's GOOD, and apropos here). Thank you Almost Heaven! Found my favorite bakery in Idyllwild! They have a pop-up on Saturday mornings in front of their new brick-and-mortar home in the village (not open yet). For my first visit, I ordered the cardamom morning bun and the Idyllwild sourdough bread. Both were amazing. As others have mentioned, the sourdough could be some of the best I've ever had. It has a slight pine scent that comes from the local trees, according to Gabrielle, one of the owners. The morning bun was like an explosion of cardamom and sweetness in my mouth. I loved it!

I eat here at least once a week as I am a devourer of sweets and pastries. The owners are super friendly and you can tell they are extremely passionate about their product. My favorites are the chocolate croissant, soft pretzels, and the cardamom morning bun. Oh yea and the lemon danish. You can't go wrong here! And if you like sourdough they have the best I've had, it seems like that is one of their biggest sellers, as they are often sold out (along with a lot of other things so arrive early when you can.) They do carry some vegan and gluten free products which have been excellent.

Excellent baked goodies and bread. Gabrielle is always so sweet! Looking forward to the main bakery opening up
