Customer Reviews
I stopped in and tried their gord-eous latte. It was delicious! The pumpkin flavor is made in house. The decor was really cute. I also loved that they opened pretty early! If your staying in Douglas, I suggest checking it out.
I stopped at Respite one day for coffee and was very happy with my experience. The weather was nice, so the outside seating was very comfortable and relaxed. My coffee was quite good as well, and enjoying it while sitting at a small table on the sidewalk was pleasant. I’d definitely recommend Respite for a relaxing time.
I visited Respite for the first time a couple of weeks ago due to the great reviews and appealing food based off of the photos on Google. I ordered the avocado toast with eggs — an up charge. The avocado was very hard, barely edible, and the eggs were both raw and not on the toast. Then, I went back to show the waitress my food and ask if there was any way I could get a new meal. They said it wasn’t their fault (whose fault is it?) because their avocado was in low stock and their microwave couldn’t properly cook the eggs, thus, there was nothing they can do. Finally, they told me they could make two new eggs, I took it, but they gave it to me in a paper cup and by that time I had lost my appetite to eat it. I would return for the coffee as that was good, but the service was very poor, the
This place is so cute and is tucked right in the heart of Center Street in Douglas. Their specialty toast is fantastic. I have never been disappointed by the food here. They use really fresh ingredients and offer unique combinations alongside traditional staples. Their honey lavender latte is delightful in the summer.
For $15, I can’t help but wonder where the rest of my sandwich is. Also, the person taking orders was not helpful. When I asked about the specials, they were unaware, and made no effort to find out what they consisted of. I had to go back outside and read the specials menu. The wrap was tasty for what it was but compared to some of the other photos I’ve seen, mine just didn’t seem to hit the value. Happy to try again but would like to build a relationship with staff and management to ensure the experience I believe Respite is capable of.
