This place was absolutely amazing. It was so worth the price! The caviar was so tasty and the nice owner showed us how to properly eat it. The borsch was so homey and warm tasting. The duck satsivi was to die for and we didn't leave a single bit of food on our plates for anything we had. The atmosphere was intimate and very homey and everyone was so nice. If you can, please make a reservation and dine here, you won't be disappointed
My Russian born wife and I love Russian food. We visited a couple weeks ago, however we will not be returning. I have a lot to say about our experience but I will keep it short and to the point. Two entrees, one martini, tip, $160. The place is astronomically overpriced for the quality of food and drinks we received. Like… completely divorced from reality overpriced. The food would have been fine at $25/plate, but for $55/plate I expect better than tough, overcooked chicken and duck. It also took more than 40 minutes for our dishes to arrive. The owner is passionate but she needs to be careful what she says; she is condescending and insulting without even realizing it. I felt like I was in a car dealership being pressure sold on $25 drinks and $200 caviar. She also claimed the vo
I have dined at restaurants all across the price spectrum and from every cuisine in the world. This is hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had to date. There's two things that really determine if this restaurant is for you: 1. The food is pricy. There is no way around that. The entrees are $55. Desserts sit at $25. Caviar and the like runs over $125. Cocktails are $25. 2. This is not meant for a get in and get out dining experience. We dined for 3 hours and ordered all the courses, but I would caution you away if you're not willing to be sociable and ask questions. If you accept the first two conditions you are in for the time of your life. Victoria, the owner and host of the evening, accommodated my group of 5 guys. She only seats 8 people for the entire evening, and w
Everything I thought I knew about Russian dishes was wrong. Granted, I didn’t know much but the little I did know never compelled me to want to try it. But tonight we went to Red Square and were bowled over! We ordered the Beluga caviar, the borsch, the vareniki, the chicken kiev, the beef stroganoff, the satsivy and for dessert the Napoleon and the truffle blini. The martinis were amazing as well! The best of all of those was the espresso martini. So good! Of all the courses, the dessert was my least favorite but only because everything else was so epic. The owner was so thorough in explaining every dish including Russian lore and tradition and her innovation on each dish. The dishes came out perfectly timed. This is not just dinner but a complete dining experience!
We had such an amazing experience at Red Square. Victoria, the owner treats you like family as soon you walk in. She went through every part of the menu section by section. She walked us through our vodka flight tasting and helped us pick out our martinis. Banana and lemon tea martinis were great and they were 10 oz each. You only need one. For an appetizer, we went with the oysters and I was hesitant eating crème fresh with oysters but I think I have been eating oysters wrong my whole life with hot sauce. These oysters had crème fresh, dill, lemon and salt and were delicious and so fresh. For our entrees we had the satsivy Duck and beef stroganoff, both were incredible. I crave the satsivy duck everyday and wish I ordered 2 of them. I don’t recall the name of the dessert but it was puff
