Red Rooster Pub

The red rooster pub is a restaurant I have been visiting under different names since 1983! For many years, it was called Portofino and they were famous for their pizzas and their chicken Parmesan. Red rooster has been around since 2019. They still make pizza for dining and takeout. And they kept the original chicken Parmesan from Portofino‘s, which is my absolute favorite chicken Parmesan anywhere in Fairfield County. I’ve been there a few times recently, and I love their wide variety of items. I love their tacos. They serve appetizers. Great nachos. They have a full bar with a variety of beers, wine, and spirits. The owner of Portofinos restaurant has now converted the place into a sports bar and restaurant. The interior is nicely curated and outfitted with multiple screens in the bar area. The pizza oven, as well as many former Portofino specials remain on the menu. The food is more pub-like with burgers and appetizers in addition to full entrees as well. The dishes are well portioned and are made fresh to order. A good place to sit at the large bar area and enjoy a cocktail while watching a game.

Had an excellent Reuben sandwich with fries. Nice pub with separate dining area. Good for kids too as train runs close enough to hear the whistle and kids love it.

Great menu and super nice staff. Burgers are worth every calorie. Just hard deciding. Wish I had more time in town to explore more of the menu as it looks amazing.
