Red Roof Inn Jackson, OH

I worked in the hotel business for many years and that experience makes me both critical and understanding of the experience. Nice rooms with nice amenities for a no-frills hotel. There is an obvious effort from ownership to provide a clean, pleasant room. Staff was hometown friendly! Will return now that I see how easy the access is to 32 and 35.

Recently stayed here this past week and overall happy with the experience. The staff were all friendly, and the rooms were pretty good for the price and decently updated. The beds were a little on the stiffer stiffer side as other reviews have stated, but as someone who stays in hotels often due to work, find stiffer beds are the norm. Hotel was nice enough we stayed again two days later when back in the area, and there truck parking was continently located right off the highway. Hotel options aren’t the most plentiful in the area, and the quality inn in Gallipolis was not nearly as nice as this hotel. Haven’t stayed at the quality inn in Jackson, but this hotel was nicer than 99% of the quality inns I’ve stayed at over the years. Will definitely stay again if needing a room in the area.

I made my reservation online. After check in, the clerk informed me that the locks on the exterior doors were "busted out" and that the doors were held open with rocks.|That's a BIG red flag for me!|I told the clerk that I didn't feel safe with that and to cancel my stay. She insisted that it was safe because "nothing ever happens here". |Sorry...that doesn't cut it.|Overall, I wasn't impressed with Jackson, and think travelers should just continue on their way, rather than stop here.

Positive: It was clean. Employee (male) was friendly and tried to get our rooms together. Breakfast was great! Negative: Hotel employee was out in his car when we arrived. Beds were full sized and very hard. Trying to get into bed and the bed would slide.

Really kind staff. The rooms are very clean. Service in the rooms are easy and fast. Nice shower, and they serve breakfast every mourning at 5am. Great view on sunny days, especially sun up and sun down. They are also pet friendly. Will definitely be coming back in the future.
