Punkin's Bar-B-Que & Catfish

I do not usually post food reviews. I do not usually leave food if I pay for it. Pulled pork was tough, dry, and bland. I also usually do not add bbq sauce unless I am trying to cover up poor quality to just get through the meal. Yet it had grease pouring out of the paper boat it was served in. I might have had worse pork somewhere but not in the past 10 years. Rancid tasting bread. Not sure how that happens. Homemade chips were alright until I got to the soggy ones in the pork grease. The mustard potato salad was the only redeeming part. Old school and reminiscent of using yesterday's mashed and baked potatoes. Really nicely flavored diner vibe to it and the only part of the meal that got finished.

The catfish was great.. wish I could catch them that big! Service was outstanding and everything I could hope for in a quick lunch while passing through. Friendly little place that was quite with a wide menu offering. Worth the visit!!

Just ate here for the first time for my Bday. Had the bbq and fish combo. I’m not a fan of fish fried with corn meal but it was really good. The ribs were cooked perfectly. The only thing that wasn’t great was the fried zucchini just because of the breading. Highly suggest the carrot cake! The waitress was very good and attentive as well. Will be going back for sure.

Awesome BBQ. Ribs, brisket and ham were great. Chicken Fried Chicken was great as well. Free Pickle bar!! Just as good as I remember as a kid.

Small town friendliness meets hometown goodness. Want fresh food that’s reasonably priced, served by friendly waitresses? Head to Punkins and try a regular, senior or child portion. You won’t be disappointed! We have been going for years and never had anything that wasn’t delicious. Smoked brisket, fried chicken sandwich, stuffed baked potato and Rex chicken are family favorites. Don’t forget to pick up a dessert on your way out. Cakes, pies, cobblers, all packaged to take home and enjoy when you have room in your tummy.
