Public Library of Johnston County & Smithfield

This is one of the best public libraries I've to. The facility is large and well maintained. My son and I go regularly and the staff are always friendly and helpful. They have a large selection of anime books he likes. I attended a gardening class there today and left with a lot more knowledge, resources, and even a seed kit to grow vegetables.

Although friendly staff. They’ve gotten rid of all their toys. What used to be a child sanctuary for safe, quiet play is now gone. What a shame that a place we’d visit once a week to let kids play while looking for books, is now a place we wouldn’t visit to play.

My daughter and I love this library! They host weekly storytimes and she always has a blast and engages in the stories. We were also pleasantly surprised on a visit there, they had several Disney princesses reading stories to kids. My daughter loved this. I love that this library really focuses on children and making reading fun. While I haven't been to other parts of the library, we love the kids section and the selection there. It is always clean and we enjoy the play area.

This location is mediocre in comparison with other libraries. It's smaller, has a smaller selection of material, and doesn't seem to be as well-maintained as others but it gives you that small town feel of the workers walking around talking while you're doing work. It's just a typical library for Johnston county.
