Prairie Lodge Motel

This motel definitely would appeal to hunters, short term construction workers and Couples on a budget. Very friendly owners (?) did not appear to live on site but offered any assistance needed. Constructed probably in the 50s , our room was surely updated because there was Not the nasty carpet associated with the 50s. Clean except the dust around the windows and blinds. You better like Deer images ( framed prints) or they might freak you out ( like it did my wife). Fairly small rooms, but livable for an overnight stay . My complaint were hunting down an electric outlet on my side of the bed, fairly dim lightning And only One coat hook and Zero hangers .... I couldn't see asking them to come back, just to get me a couple of hangers .

This is by far one of the best places I've stayed at in my 20+ years driving over-the-road. Management is really awesome, and accommodating. The rooms are actually really nice. Just because this is an older motel doesn't mean it's not worth staying at. they're actually clean and comfortable. The wifi works really good. The surrounding area is quiet, so there is very little to disturb you, if anything at all. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a peaceful place to spend a couple of nights, and this was a good choice. The rooms are small, but cute and comfortable with all the standard amenities you would expect in a hotel room. The air conditioning worked well and the room was very clean. I loved that each room has a little porch with chairs. Quaint and rustic, but a nice place to rest and see the local area.

The place isn’t bad but honestly for 3 people and a dog the room is pretty small (tho then again we have 2 other people and a dog so not really their fault) I think they should upgrade the TV’s cause new modern TV’s with streaming services you can log into if you have any would make it more comfortable and feel more like home and they aren’t rlly that pricy even for like a Roku tv it ain’t that much and it’d be better than having TV’s from 2006 that are at like 720P prob even lower than that tbh. It’s js annoying especially with the price we’re paying also. For the price I’d expect a tv that doesn’t look like it’s from when Kanye said George Bush doesn’t care about black people lol js a thought other than that there’s not rlly much of a problem

So cute! The friendliest hosts you can imagine! Laid back, cozy, beautiful grounds, so quiet and peaceful! Very well priced. I grew up in Council Grove and had never been there, but it will be our go to place!🥰
