Prairie Du Chien Library

The staff at this library are very professional and helpful. One such example is when I was doing online paperwork and needed somebody to interpret something they went beyond the call of duty and read it with me to simplify what was being said. The library itself is very spacious with plenty of options for books, as well as, plenty of options of DVDs. Another unique selection is audiobooks. I went here for the first time, so I needed an ID before I could use their services. The process was super fast and efficient! Workers made our IDs quickly. Both were also very friendly. I had to work from the library today and the Internet connection was good. I learned that it was recently renovated. It is a welcoming place. Very quiet place to work and study or just to read a book if you want to be in a relaxing place!

These negative reviews are crazy. Bad hours? I get it but most library's close at 5. This library is actually open until 6 and 7 on some days. I haven't been to a library unless it's a college one that's open later. they are open on saturday's as well for kids in school. I just found out you can order any book you want also! I ordered like 10 and they said it was totally okay. They are so sweet and nice to my daughter and I when we come in. Note this is a small library not like a library in a big city. They are not going to have every book. That's why if you don't see something you like order it! I also love that I can have 30 books out and they do not care. My daughter and I love reading so we keep books for a while and they just renew them! Love this library!!

Always a pleasure to visit our wonderful library, my favorite of all the libraries I've been a patron of in my 66 years. The wonderful staff and the awesome director, Nancy, are all doing a fabulous job to keep us all safe there and providing the opportunity to browse and find new books to feed our reading habits. Thanks to all the great librarians for being there and all you are doing. <3

The staff is very friendly, and the resources are top notch for a community this size. Plus they have the ability to pull materials from plenty of other libraries so you can get exactly the book you are looking for. The new building is gorgeous, and their hours are plenty accommodating during the week.
