Pottsville Free Public Library

In the 15 years that I've lived in the Potsville area, I must say that this library continues to improve as the years go on. All of the staff are really great and the amount of books and DVDs that you could rent is fantastic. The rental period is for an entire week and you could take out at least three at a time for movies and I think that's very good compared to others in the area. The magazine and news paper variety is also very great. The back section of the first floor behind the computers is really beautiful and a great preservation of Pottsville's history. The library also offers a ton of community activities that are constantly happening throughout the year. The library has a new Wi-Fi network that works much better now. I love this library and I’ve always enjoyed coming here. The design is beautiful and theres a lot of natural light that comes in here. Plus, the librarians are very helpful and a lot more than just books and dvds are provided to the surrounding community through the library. Sometimes when I cannot focus at home doing work, I’ll come here instead because the environment of this library really helps me focus and work more efficiently.

Would not recommend- antiquated design, unwelcoming staff, was told I couldn’t have my coffee, lack of quality WiFi, have to pay for parking, questionable patrons- had a unkempt dude next to me non-stop giggling while tearing paper. Nice stairwell though- although you cant use it so… oh! And the bathrooms were locked up.

Welcomed school aged children. I want to thank whoever planned the activities to engage children. Kids who said they "hate books" got to take home a book and got caught reading! Keep up the great work, Thank you!

Wheelchair accessible through elevator. Quiet and clean with helpful staff!
