Been too long Portillo's... Love this place but let's be real here, it's all about the BIG Italian beef, quick dip, both sweet and spicy peppers with cheese sauce on the side and a Large Cake Shake. Good salads and the Chicago dog hits right... The new Strawberry Cake Shake is good but I'd stick with the chocolate cake shake and that BIG Italian! 😋

Perfect location to go to after a Cubs Spring Training game. It’s literally right down the road from the stadium. It thankfully wasn’t too busy so we waited in line, ordered, and had our food within 15 minutes. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. We were able to eat outside since the weather was so nice. I really love and appreciate them for having the garden dog. It’s my favorite.

I have never been to a Portillo’s before but I was pleasantly surprised with my recent visit. This Chicago-style street food restaurant is fantastic! I ordered the Char Grilled Maxwell Street Polish Sausage and it was simply amazing. The flavor combinations were spot on and absolutely delicious. The French fries were cooked to perfection, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Everything came out quickly, and the workers were both friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The dining room is huge and the vibe made me feel like I had stepped out of town and into an authentic Chicago street food spot. I’ve never been inside a Portillos but I ordered it on DoorDash. Two hot dogs for $16 w delivery fees isn’t bad. The plant based garden dog is pretty good but the relish I had them add is what prompted this review bc it’s so artificially green, I didn’t finish the hot dog. The chili dog was really good, no notes.

I'm glad I tried it but it was not for me. 1) The menu, particularly the way they present the "famous five" is deceptive. The "famous five" is presented as a package price, and I mistakenly thought it was a special deal for buying the sandwich , French fries, and drink all together. Turns out it is not. The manager told me they are "suggestions." Given the confusion, I very much appreciate that he gave me a large side (instead of the small drink I paid for) on the house. However, I don't even like soda, so I left the cup behind when I departed. 2) I asked the host about joining the rewards club when I was ordering but this could not be done because I had to sign up separately from some QR code.
