Portillo's Normal

We had some promotional meal cards. Employees didn't engage in a friendly way when we requested seperate payments per guest order in order to use the cards. Took a long time for the food. It was "ok". Upon eating we noticed that our ,and other tables around us had mold/mildew on the table cloths. We left

The food was perfect! I live right near the Chicago River north location so for me to be impressed is great! I’m writing this truly because of Latonya who I caught doing an act of kindness for an elderly lady. The lady was a bit confused and Latonya was walking her to the door. I said “so sweet of you” and she heard me and said “thank you”. She did more than I’ll mention but I will mention she is very sweet! Little things go a long way!

This may have been the best experience I’ve ever had at a Portillo’s restaurant. It was a rough day. Jordan (the young man taking our order) was able to put a smile on our faces even got a laugh out of us. He went above and beyond in his customer service. 10/10.

So weird to find a Portillos out in the wild..... Seriously, it was great. The quality speed and friendliness you expect in any Chicagoland Portillos was in evidence here. Thanks for making a long drive easier!

One of my favorite spots to eat when I visit my family out here. If for some reason you are in Normal and have never had Chicago style Hot Dogs or an Italian beef, this is a great spot to get them outside of Chicago. If you want something traditional, a dipped beef is the way to go but it's super messy, buyer be warned. My preferred way to get a beef here is to order it with hot and sweet peppers, dry, with a side of Au jus. Bathroom was clean, service was good, pricing is fair.
