Portillo's Brookfield

Been to Portillos several times and have always been satisfied with the atmosphere, food, and service. This time came with some friends for a lunch. Arrived right at noon, and the place was starting to get busy. Stood in line, which went pretty fast with 3 cashiers taking orders. Friendly greeting by the cashier, and helpful with the order. You get ticket with a number and wait for your call. Took about 5 mins to get my Regular Beef Sandwich, and Onion Rings. Everything was hot, good flavors and the portions were good. The beef is amazingly tender. Good flavor, but would have been even better if I had included some of the roasted roasted sweet peppers - next time! Went through the drive through at 2:40pm on October 25th. I ordered fish sandwich and kids hot dog. I got to the window and the young man at the window never acknowledged us. We waited 10 minutes in silence and when he handed us our food I said thank you and he said “You didn’t have to snatch the bag out of my hand” I asked him to repeat what he said and he said it again. We will never be returning. Also the fish sandwich was missing tartar sauce.

Amazing staff. I don’t come here often but when I do it’s always a great experience. Hands down amazing food. But this recent visit was exceptional due to staff. Every single person I interacted with made my night better. To top it off, I think it was the manager who gave my daughter one of the weiner dog stuffed animals for no reason other than to be nice. You just don’t see as nice as staff as I saw Friday night. Keep up the positivity because I know the food will always be amazing.

Their Italian Beef, wet, with hot giardiniera is to die for! The sandwich has all the right flavors! The bread has a great texture after getting dunked. The bread is soft, but not slimy like a cheap/inferior bun. I could eat several of them, several days in a row! I wish there was a a Portillo's closer to where I live. I also had their Chicago Dog. It was a good proper Chicago Dog. Delicious!

The food was delicious, but what I really wanted to highlight is the sweet woman at the pick-up counter. Her name is Cindy Lou, and she truly brightened my day. I was having a really hard day mentally, and her kindness helped me end it on a much better note. Thank you, Cindy, and thank you to Portillo’s for having such wonderful employees like her.
