Heard good things so my wife and I dropped by for brunch on a Saturday. Not a lot of people know Por offers brunch, but it’s their loss. The menu is a combination of breakfast classics, elevated, with a few Mediterranean options that really stood out to me. I had the lamb kofta pizzette with two eggs. It was sensational. My wife and I gauge a restaurant by the menu planning, flavors, and if we’d drive 20mins to come back for a dish. This is easily one I’d travel for. I’ll be back for that dish and to try the orange blossom French toast.
This place was so disappointing. It looked so cute from the outside and had an okay vibe inside, but as soon as we sat down it left much to be desired. The service was nonexistent. Our waitress sat us and then disappeared; a second waitress had to track her down just to take our drink order. They were out of so many things on the menu that it felt ridiculous. We waited an hour and a half between our appetizer and our mains, which is honestly insane. The waitress finally apologized about two hours in, but by that point it was too late. She essentially ghosted us between the salad and dinner, then again after we finished. My husband’s steak was meh, and the patatas bravas were literally diced boiled potatoes covered in thick tomato sauce. Yuck. Honestly, the best thing we had was the salad
Tried the Denver Restaurant week menu and for the quality of the food, it was way overpriced. First of all, the menu was misleading. If you go to the Denver Restaurant week website the ad was for $55 for the four course meal. At the restaurant, the steak was additional $10. I was really looking forward to trying the steak so I didn’t mind spending the extra $10, and that third course was the most disappointing course. The steak was far from tender, and both me and my husband had to spit out a few of the bites and mind you we are not picky eaters. For how much our entire meal cost, I was expecting the food to be good. The dessert, the drinks and the first course were good. But that was it sadly.
Loved my first visit to Louisville and this spot was a standout! 🍷 /pôr/ Wine House is a cozy Mediterranean-inspired restaurant with incredible cocktails, a thoughtful wine list, and beautifully executed small plates. Highlights: the bacon-wrapped dates, roasted beets, and the “Blueberry Skies” cocktail (so refreshing!). Perfect for date night or catching up with friends in downtown Louisville.
Got tapas for brunch, service was okay, wasn’t really checked on to see if we needed anything extra than what was brought to us. It was just the bartender on staff so I’m sure there was lots of prep work to do and we weren’t too needy, just would’ve been nice for a table touch after. Food display is on point but pretty mid quality, a bit over priced for what it was. Brussels are great but just seemed like they were shaken in a bowl with a very generic sauce. Mocktail was decent too. Overall not a bad place especially to sit on the patio for a sunny day, just a bit overpriced for what the food actually is.
