Pompei Elmwood Park

Trying Pompei in Elmwood Park for the first time! We started out with a fried calamari appetizer, excellent! We also ordered a small chopped chicken salad, it was very good. I ordered the streusel with ricotta cheese, spinach and mozzarella. I’m sorry to say I was not a fan of it. The ricotta cheese tasted spoiled, it just didn’t taste fresh, like it was sitting out there or dry. I don’t know what it was, but I will not be ordering that again. I brought it up to their attention, but they didn’t seem to care. My husband ordered the meat lasagna. He said it was OK, but he wouldn’t order it again. We got there about 1:30 in the afternoon. Pompei finally came back to the suburbs of Chicago in Elmwood Park. Before I knew about this location I used to always go to the one in Schaumburg and Taylor St. Now that it's closer to where I live I'll be going there whenever I have a chance. Their Pizza and Pasta is really good. I always get to Gnocchi in Vodka Sauce and Baked Mostaccioli for my Mom, plus some Pizza. Will be going back soon. Another thing I almost forgot to mention is that they have a window to where if you order ahead you can pick it up there.

Its the same wonderful food and service of Pompei on Taylor, but in a more relaxed, comfortable, and safer suburban environment. The food is all absolutely delicious, yep, everything is very good. Fresh and home cooked Italian food at a very reasonable price. Service is terrific, they are friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is cute and comfortable, can't wait till next summer to sit outside and enjoy the food and area at the same time. You gotta stop, this place is amazing! It will not disappoint.........

Pompei is truly one of the best new additions to the community. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the quality of the building itself. Everything feels brand new, thoughtfully designed, and built with comfort in mind. It is a place where you immediately feel welcome and relaxed On this visit, I ordered the meatball sandwich, and it exceeded every expectation. The meatballs were large, perfectly seasoned, and smothered in just the right amount of marinara sauce. The bread they use deserves special mention because it held up beautifully and added the perfect texture to the sandwich.
