Pointer Brewery is a really unique spot for the local area, especially because it’s the only place around where you can get Korean-inspired food in the Fort Smith, Van Buren, Alma area. While it’s a fusion restaurant and you might not expect bold or traditional Korean flavors because of that, you’re pleasantly surprised by how thoughtfully those flavors are woven into the dishes. Nothing feels forced or overdone. Instead, you get genuine hints of Korean cuisine that clearly come from someone who understands and appreciates it. Q has spent time in Korea and has always enjoyed Korean food and when you talk to him about it you know that rather trying to imitate, his goal is to share flavors he loves in a way that fits the local scene. It feels intentional and authentic! Beyond the food, the
Based on the reviews, I was excited to try this place. To say the food was abysmal is an understatement. I’m not certain the people here have ever eaten Korean food. The food here is not Korean enough to even be considered fusion. It’s a bold move to have multiple bulgogi dishes when the meat has no flavor. The bread for multiple dishes was stale. The rice is unseasoned, so putting poorly cooked white rice on a sandwich or slider is a poor choice. The kimchi flavor was nothing like I’ve ever had before, and not in a good way. Someone in my party actually needed to spit it out, who regularly eats kimchi at home. The corn cheese dip was okay, but it was nothing like the description or corn cheese dip I’ve had at any other Korean restaurant. The waitstaff was friendly, however there were di
It was my first time visiting tonight and everything was incredible! The atmosphere was very welcoming. Our server Carissa was so sweet and helpful! I had the bibimbap, so excited to finally have somewhere in the area that serves it! It was to die for. My boyfriend had the bulgogi and it was delicious! The house kimchi was also very good. Kylie threw down in the kitchen tonight. I tried a shot of the strawberry soju, it was incredibly smooth and really good. I'm so glad to have finally stopped by! I'll be returning soon!
I Came here after a pottery class randomly with some new freinds. I had the Korean tacos and some oolong tea. The bulgogi was delicious. The bartender Karissa is awesome, she taught me some sign language. I will definitely go back next time im in downtown Van Buren.
The food is tasty! Music is awesome; especially for the customer in their 50’s era! Customer service is wonderful. We will be back! H
