Pohick Regional Library

SO LOUD IN HERE! This is a library, not a playground. The acoustics in here are just horrible. An employee agreed. If you want to check out books, great – to have a playground for your kids, even better because that’s what some parents seem to be doing today. They’re not even trying to quiet their kids and employees seem oblivious. Unfortunately, my child has to get tutored here. If you plan to visit this library to study, DON’T. Go to another Burke library that’s actually quiet.

It's a pretty great library and library system. They are missing a few things that our last library had, like a good, up-to-date DVD collection, single book audio players for kids, more extensive library of things (although they HAVE started carrying some items for checkout and that's fantastic!), and kids learning kits. They do have board games for checkout, which is cool. I love that they have inter library loans so that I can check things out from other libraries across the country. The Binge Box DVDs are a neat option since they group a few like movies together, so I usually end up watching more than one in a single set. I also love that I can put things on hold from all across Fairfax county and they will transport it to my local library for pickup.

So bright and welcoming! What a lovely library! They have movies, audiobooks, a huge kids section, tvs and video games... so much to see and do!

The staff are nice and super quick (got a new library card not even 5 mins!), and the layout is very nice looking. The renovation has added a good amount more space, and events are regularly held there and advertised on a calendar wall. Well organized, the only complaint ever is when they don't have a certain book lol!
