Pizzaiolo Primo Murrysville

We have dined there twice now. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was great. Service was superb with minimal wait time for our meals. If you are well traveled, you understand the authentic ingredients and Italian way of cooking means most pastas are al dente which is a culture shock to some that are used to the overcooked pasta at most local restaurants. (It’s all in what you prefer I suppose). Also, you get what you pay for. If you are expecting a $12 plate of pasta with a protein or an $8 pizza grab your coupons and maybe dine somewhere more in your budget. I see several negative reviews here from others. We dined in for the first time today and I will have to say the manager ruined the entire experience. I believe his name was Dave. He was yelling to “turn people away” was extremely rude to his staff and did not nicely approach my family when we checked in for our reservation. Extremely understaffed. I will say- great pizza.

It's unfortunate that this place has such terrible service. Servers and the kitchen staff are in desperate need of guidance. It shows a lack of leadership within the restaurant. A tip from someone who worked hospitality for a long time, anytime you have children you should ALWAYS put their meal in at the time of an appetizer unless advised other wise by the guest. There is no reason anyone should wait over an hour for their appetizer and or meal. The appetizer would have been great if there wasn't hair found in the middle of it. Burrata and strawberry salad was dry. Added chicken was even worse. The waitress whose name began with an M. Refused to make eye contact, provide refills or apologize for the wait. It was their opening week in Murrysville. We arrived when it opened on Sunday, 11am. We sat in the bar area and Nicole the bartender was our server. She was so wonderful to us.. We had 2 appitizers, fried zuchinni and crab artichoke dip with pizza bread..the zuchinni was very good..the marinara sauce was really good! The crab artichoke dip was my least favorite dish. I didn't see any artichoke and it just didn't have alot of taste..other than the crab taste..so, we squeezed a lemon on it ..seemed to help.. the pizza bread was so good! I ordered the papadilla fungi/ mushroom, pasta and added breaded chicken..for $10.00. It was delicious! And huge..I took most of it home. My friend ordered the Roman style Atarabic? I’ve never had anything short of a fantastic meal at any Il Pizzaiolo property!! They use high quality ingredients, prepare wonderful dishes, and are a locally owned restaurant. A one star review in the first week while they’re getting into a groove is unfair. I’d go back again and again!!
