Pista House (Biriyani-Haleem-Kababs)

I visit Pista House in Artesia once or twice every week, mainly for the Nizam Chicken Biryani, which is consistently delicious, flavorful, and authentic. The quality of the food keeps me coming back regularly. The service is also good and the staff are generally courteous and efficient. However, on some occasions, the raita and chutney have an unpleasant smell, which needs attention. Improving consistency and freshness in these accompaniments would further enhance the overall dining experience. Overall, it is a great place for enjoying excellent biryani, and with a little improvement in this area, it would be even better.

We traveled about 40 miles to try this place after hearing good things, but our experience was very disappointing. The cashier (an older gentleman) was extremely rude. The restaurant closes at 9:30 PM and we arrived around 8:50 PM, yet he refused to seat us and asked us to leave. We then asked if we could place a to-go order, but he still tried to make us leave, saying he didn’t have change to give back (around $22). It felt like he was intentionally trying to avoid making a sale and pushing customers away. It’s hard to understand how a business can succeed if customers who come excited because of good word of mouth are treated this way. A Monthly Favorite at Artesia! Pista House is our go-to spot for dinner after shopping. This unassuming restaurant serves exceptionally delicious food! We're huge fans of the Amaravathi Lamb Biryani and our kids love the Chicken 65. We usually visit on Saturdays, when it's not too busy. While the dine-in area is manageable, the takeout orders are always in high demand! What impresses us: - Eco-friendly green cutlery reduces water waste - Convenient lid-only packaging for leftovers - Top-notch customer service - Clean and well-maintained facilities, including restrooms Highly recommended! Would not recommend this place. Our order was completely wrong — we received goat dum biryani instead of the Thalapakatti goat biryani we specifically ordered. The meat was burnt, and the biryani tasted stale and old. We also ordered chicken dum biryani, which was clearly not freshly made and seemed reheated and boxed up. The food was so unappetizing that we ended up throwing it away. This level of quality and ignorance is unacceptable.

WORST EXPERIENCE How can people even support such place who serves food that is cooked somewhere else and served in the restaurant. I understand Biryani Lovers like to go there coz of original Pista House in Hyderabad India. But seriously just because of that you have to eat here too. Anything and everything we ordered didn’t have any taste. We ordered: Lamb Kebab: just by looking at it you could tell they microwaved then. Chetinad Chicken curry: was ok. Not too bad not too good. But it was reheated too. Chicken Lollipops: they were also premade and were just fried in hot oil just before serving Bezawada Chicken Biriyani: this was the best thing in our whole order.
