This place is AWESOME! I've become a regular customer!Got the vegetable plate. With a baked potato. Just $9 and very tasty! Second trip there I got whitefish , which was excellent. Excellent servers. . . Ask for Ann or Leah . . . They will take very good care of you! 😃 😃 😃 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ 🤠 🤠 🤠

We mostly got beige food - fried stuff. But it was super nicely done. Fresh ingredients, excellent breading, fresh oil. The front of house staff were super nice. We got there towards the end of the lunch shift on a weekend, so they were a bit tired. But, friendly nonetheless. Hush puppies were big, and perfectly done, same for the onion rings. My fried squash was close to perfect, as was the salmon. Patty. The fried okra was perhaps the best I've ever had - not overly breaded, or overly seasoned. Just fried okra as it was meant to be . Everything was nicely and lightly seasoned, not bland at all. Hot sauce on the table. I can only really describe the decor one way: Jesus. You'll know what I mean if you visit. It's Jesus. All Jesus. Went this morning and had a very unpleasant waitress I'm guessing because we were not regulars. First time here. Went to pay the bill and the cashier was on the phone and couldn't take my payment. Then she goes off in the back somewhere even though a line to pay was forming. When she returned she informed all of us we would have to wait a minute. Then I paid with a card and she gave me a dirty look and seemed to get mad. Which I totally dont understand because cash or card the bill is paid. While standing there waiting for my receipt I seen a Jesus picture and little Jesus figures on the register and this thought popped in my head. With their attitudes would Jesus be pleased? Are they showing his love?

UPDATE- Meal #2. Had a much better experience today. Got their pork chop special and it was very good. Initial review- Stopped in for lunch at 11:45. Meatloaf was sort of rubbery. Fried okra was hot but I had to add salt. Mixed greens were cold and lacked taste. Cornbread was OK. Portions were good sized. Sweat tea was excellent. Waitress was courteous and kept my tea glass full. Surprised meal wasn't fresher because of my arriving prior to noon. Everybody in town pointed me here and my sister recommended it too. I'll be back to try a different meal and will upgrade my rating if it warrants it then.

I called ahead to this restaurant to order but the woman who answered the phone wasn't very nice. I let it go because I didn't know what her day had looked like. I got chicken and dumplings with baked apples and potato wedges. The chicken and dumplings tasted like hot nothing. The baked apples were very good but the wedges had a weird breading. Not only that but after eating half of them I noticed a fishy smell on the wedges. I have a fish allergy and felt very bad after eating this meal. I have given this business multiple tries and I don't believe it's for me. I will say the owner seems very nice.
