Pincushion Trails Inn Bed and Breakfast

Beautiful and cozy B and B right on the Pin Cushion ski trails-literally. Wax your skis inside, step out and you're on your way to ski beautiful and well maintained trails. Our room was spacious, lovely and looked over Lake Superior. The commons area is a great set up for reading, playing music and being with friends. Bob and Marlys are laid back wonderful hosts and there to guide you to ski trails, restaurants and local music. The breakfasts are fantastic. Less than three miles to town.

Marlys & Bob were so accommodating and helpful. The rooms were super comfortable and quite. The view of the sunrise each morning just seemed to start the day off on the right foot. The trails right out the back door offer all levels of difficulty and are great for beginners. (Just bring bug spray, and don't get spooked if you hear something crashing through the woods) The trail to the right leads down to the Canyon Curves. Lots of fun.

I have stayed here twice in the last 6 months. I enjoyed two seasons, summer and fall. The first time I stayed inside the B & B and enjoyed the cozy stove and the atmosphere in the great room. The sauna was enjoyable and the other guests were entertaining. The breakfast was delightful and the owners were very warm and welcoming. This fall I stayed in the Yurt. The Yurt was inviting and we stayed warm with the electric heater. The rain falling on the canvas was mesmerizing and lured me to sleep. The creek ran below the yurt and was so soothing to the ear. The outhouse was amazing as an outhouse can be. The books were incredible. Simply charming. I have stayed at this B and B in every season, again wonderful. The trails were freshly groomed and we skied out the door. The sauna is great at the end of the night. The B and B is comfortable northwoods in the best way. The breakfasts are great and the presentation artistic. Bob and Marlys know the area, things to see artsy and natural. The perfect way to get up the shore and enjoy some time away.

This is quintessential Gunflint Trail B&B experience. When we arrived there was a gas lantern nestled in the snowbank lighting the way to the front door as snow fell. The decor is simple Scandinavian accented with local art. (Everything is clean.) Just a few steps from the back door is the Pincushion ski trail. Our bedroom, with two twin beds, was small. However, the common room is a cozy place to relax with the coffee or tea that is always available. The breakfast was exceptional. Everything is homemade fresh and presented with care. The innkeepers are charming and went out of their way to accommodate us. I feel like I had a weekend in a country inn in Scandinavia, without the airport experience.
