MacArthur House Bed & Breakfast

We stayed in a cabin. For the money this place was nice. It is not a 5 star place and that is okay. The over all feel was dated and not overly clean. Large dust balls behind and under beds and such. Holes in screen that let bugs in, bandaid fixed it. And oddly my biggest complaint is the clock. The stupid chiming clock. Every hour loud for each hour gongs and a single smaller one on the half. I am sorry but that alon almost made me take a hammer to it. It was mounted to the wall so no way to remove and put away from the rooms. Loud gong every hour all night long. Why would you have that in a rental?!? It literally kept waking us up every hour. The only hour I did not see on a clock night one was 4am.... thank you clock. Max and Sherri are kind and helpful hosts. The house and rooms are very clean. The location is perfect for access to everything in Grand Marias. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay at this Bed & Breakfast. Max and his wife were great hosts. Very clean and tidy. The house was very quiet and peaceful. The dog is small and very well mannered. Breakfast was placed in your room the night before and included muffins, yogurt, cereal bars, and coffee. We would definitely return.

If I could give them more stars I would. My wife and I have stayed in the main house for the last 5 years, at least twice a year. We absolutely love staying there and feel relaxed the second we walk in the door. Max and Sherrie are the sweetest owners and hosts. We literally have nothing bad to say. My wife and I both are clean freaks and have never had a dirty room, bathroom, anything. Recommend to family and friends all the time. Can't go wrong, but don't expect a TV or a kitchen, go in town to eat and read a book.

I am reviewing a cabin. The pictures on the website must be extremely old. Everything was old - paint peeling. The pictures look like cute little cabins. It was very stuffy (no air conditioning). Read the rules - you must close the windows when leaving even for short periods, take out garbage & recycling, wash & put away dishes or will be large charge for housekeeping. There was a fridge in the bedroom. The pictures on the website conveniently had the door partially closed so you could not see this.
