Pig N Steak

Stopped here last week for a late lunch and was very pleasantly surprised! Very cool (and clean) atmosphere! I had slaw, baked beans, and pulled pork (always my first order when trying a new bbq place) and it was very good. The pork was very tasty and their NC vinegar sauce went well with it. The slaw and beans were very tasty too. Right off the highway if you’re ever in the area and looking for a good place to stop!

Nicest folks running this place. Our server was support pleasant and attentive. She gave suggestions and offered alternatives on and off the menu. The food was delivered quickly and was well prepared and hot. We got a ton of food for the money. I didn’t love the brisket, but everything else was great.

We had a really wonderful lunch here. Because I don't eat beef and rarely have pork, I am often unsure if a BBQ place is for me. But I was so impressed with the chicken platter. The meat was juicy and well-seasoned. They also nailed the coleslaw and mac&cheese. Service was also really great. Only small downside is it was really hot inside but not enough to deter us. If we head back that way we'll stop in again!

Where do I start, this restaurant is an absolute gem and I see why it's a staple for Madison, VA. The atmosphere is very welcoming, so go ahead and pick your table, have a seat and someone will be with you quickly. The menu has quite a selection of delicious meats that are smoked in house. Be sure to ask about steaks, as they vary daily. The sides are SO delicious, it's hard to choose 2 from the list. The staff are excellent at providing you exceptional service from the word "hello" til you say "check please" Definitely a restaurant I will always refer and return to in the future.

$40 for ribs, a scoop of shredded pork, beans, coleslaw, two buns from a package, and an appetizer of onion rings. Enough for my girlfriend and I. The onion rings were fresh and hot. The coleslaw was unremarkable. The meats were soft rather than tender. Their appearance was not appealing.
