Piccolo Pizza

Really inconsistent pie. Dough recipe and ingredient quality took a nose-dive this past visit. Ordered an antipasto that was described as "chopped cured meats, fresh cheeses, and briny olives." I recieved an assortment of rolled up deli meat served with lettuce and large cliché tomato wedges that my wife tasted and immediately spit out, warning me... not to eat the suspect meat. If it could iron out producing a steady pie Piccolo would be one of my favorite places in the area for NY style pizza. Pizza was over-sauced, missing the roasted garlic my family loved so much the first 4 times we got pizza here and had way too much chew to the crust. I used to recommend this place highly. I no longer can do that with confidence.

Pizza has great sauce to cheese ratio with tasty, quality ingredients. My family ordered trays of Chicken Francese recently, and we were so pleased to find out the pasta came sauced under the chicken. This is so much better than other places where the pasta has to be ordered separately and doesn't come sauced. Everyone enjoyed it, and the flavor was fresh and bright with lemon. The salad was also excellent, but I think the pickles could be omitted. Excellent customer service every time!

Seriously great pizza! Major caveat though; their sides are awful. I've tried almost all of their sides with various take out orders. Garlic bread, cheesy garlic bread etc and all of them were REALLY bad. Covered in garlic from a can. So much so that all you can taste is the strange taste of canned garlic. Just seriously caked on the bread. It's annoying because their pizza is 5 stars every time. The crust is good the sauce is great and it's honestly one of my favorite pizzas. So I'm forced on minimum delivery orders to purchase a side along with my pizza and every time I regret it. All that said: their pizza is GREAT. I've had family over and ordered their pizza. Everyone of my family members said how great the pizza was. And some of them are on the picky side so I call that a win! Jus

Pizza is not good. If your looking for authentic NYC pizza, look elsewhere. I haven't found one spot in orange county, that has good pizza. I've been to them all. Edit: Actually I ate at your place when it switched owners and you took over. So I ate at the old place and the new place. They both suck. You and every other place in orange county, should be ashamed of the pizza your putting out. It really is a shame, I have to drive over thirty minutes, to get a decent slice. People don't have to take my word. All they have to do, is look at the pictures of your food. The pizza looks disgusting.

Ordered last night for the first time , fries were soaked in oil , like when you throw fries into the grease while the grease is still cold, just soaked up all the grease, but that pizza was amazing ! Absolutely loved it! Definitely ordering from here again.
